Fabrics wash and care

We mainly use high stretch fabrics, as well as fabrics that are less stretchy such as Latex or due to a coating such as PU.

Matt spandex

A techno-fabric made of micro-polyamide that feels extremely soft and silky to the touch and fits the body like a second skin. Ideal for comfortable sportswear garments. It is also UV protective (UPF 50+) and therefore suitable for any kind of sport activities, even the most challenging and long-lasting ones. The matt spandex is a polyamide elastane knit. The outside is matt and the inside is brushed, which gives it that soft comfortable feel.

This fabric is a so-called four way stretch and it completely opaque, except for white. For some reason white is always a little see through.

This fabric is available in a few different colors.

The stretch level is medium and the compression is low.

Composition: PA.80% EA.20%

Weight: ca. 190g / m2

Wash and care:

PU patent and mesh mix

The mesh fabric has a medium to high stretch and is see-through.

Mesh fabric composition: PA. 85% EA. 15%

The PU fabric has a Polyamide / Elastane knit backing with a surface of a shiny plastic (PU / Polyurethane) coating.

The Patent of this fabric describes this material as very shiny with an almost mirror like appearance. The PU fabrics we use are a four way stretch.

The stretch level is low.

Good measurements are needed to create a perfect fit.

PU patent fabric composition: PA.70% PU.12% EA.18%

Weight: ca 260gr / m2

Wash and care:

PU fabrics do color bleed. Always store your PU clothing in transparent plastic bags and away from other color PVC. Also store in a dark cool place.

LATEX

Latex (rubber) is a natural product.

Latex clothing is generally made from large sheets of latex which are delivered in rolls.

Latex garment production consist for 95% of gluing the pattern parts together instead of sewing.

Latex has a special type of stretch (elastics-like), that is overall and constant.

Latex garments look and feel like second skin.

Your latex garment will have a matt and powdered appearance when you receive it. This is to prevent sticking and moisture forming mold during shipping. To get that high shine gloss look you have to clean the surface from the powder first with a soft clean lint free cloth with a little detergent then lubricate your garment with a latex shine like the beGLOSS Perfect SHINE.

Latex garments also need special care and it is very important to clean your latex properly after wearing. Caring for your latex will definitely help with the longevity of the clothing. Hand wash your latex garment in lukewarm water with a mild soap, stir it around, turn the garment inside out and repeat the process. Don't let it soak. Rinse thoroughly with clean hot (not too hot aka boiling scolding hot) water. Pat the in- and outside, as well as any metal fittings, towel dry. Let the garment dry both inside and out fully while laying down flat or either on a plastic hanger but be careful on the shoulders if it is a top or catsuit not to distort the shape of the garment. When storing the latex make sure it is fully dry inside and out preferably with a little powder and if the item has metal fitting/s put tissue paper or baking paper between the garment and metal to prevent tarnishing, same goes for items with different colors try to prevent long time touching of colors incase of bleeding.

  • Do not clean with chlorine
  • Do not dry on any heating source or dry in the sun
  • Nourish with silicone based preservatives
  • Do not store when wet or damp
  • Store rubber in a dark, dry and cool place such as a closet, preferably in a black plastic bag
  • Avoid exposing your latex to sunlight or heat, this may damage or fade the rubber
  • Do not scrub/rub intensively when dry or sticky it can cause damages of the surface of the material and make it dull
  • Don't put or store transparent or light colored latex against metal (zippers, press-studs, buckles or any other metal parts) add a barrier of tissue paper or baking/parchment paper
  • Should the garment tear or become damaged in any way, do not attempt to wear or repair it yourself have it professionally repaired or contact us
  • Always wash your rubber after use
  • Always dry your garment after use
  • Always powder your latex garment after washing and drying, so it won't stick together and tear when attempting to unfold it
  • Latex/Rubber bonded with spandex

When ordered, latex fabrics usually arrive matt, un-shined and powdered to prevent moisture forming mold and sticking during shipping. To get that high shine gloss look you have to remove the powder and lubricate your garment with a latex shine like the beGLOSS Perfect SHINE.

The Bonded Latex is a thin layer of latex coated on a spandex fabric and has the same features and care on the latex side as regular latex.

The latex can be worn either shiny or matt.

If you prefer your Bonded Latex with that matt leather look you will need to rub powder on the places that will rub against each other, such as the inner thighs, to make sure that you won't damage the latex layer in case of excessive rubbing. This can occur when the Bonded Latex is too sticky or dry.

Warning: contains natural latex on the outside, which may cause allergies just like 100% Latex garments.

Latex covered Spandex clothes are much easier to put on and wear than their 100% latex equivalents. The elastic spandex fabric on the inside glides easy over the skin, so there is no need to use a slip gel or powder to put the item on.

If you want to get the most out of the longevity of your Bonded Latex garment, we advise you to follow the following recommendations:

  • Hand wash at a temperature of up to 40 degrees and mechanical washing at a temperature of up to 40 degrees
  • Do not iron
  • Do not use chlorine
  • Do not dry clean
  • When you are washing your latex covered spandex garment and you haven't used shiner on it, it will stick together when washing. So we advice you to put a bit of shiner on the outside before washing it to prevent sticking.
  • When the garment is stored dry it can stick together. In that case use talcum powder and slowly pull apart, while at the same time powdering the garment to prevent it sticking again.
  • When storing away the item after washing, do make sure it is completely dry, clean and powdered and put away in a dry dark place preferably in a bag separate form other items.
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not hang the garment on any heating source or hang to dry in the sun
  • Do not leave out in the sun as it will deteriorate the latex and burn it, changing the color and drying it out
  • Do not scrub/rub intensively when dry or sticky it can cause damages of the surface of the material and make it dull
  • For good care use silicone-based agents or other oil-free products on the outer shell (latex side)
  • Wet or damp clothing should be completely air dried before being stored
  • Air dry the item indoors and away from sunlight
  • Store your latex clothes separate from each other to avoid color bleeding with other colors and items sticking together. Store the garments preferably separate in a bag in the dark
  • Be careful when wearing metal on latex this will tarnish and oxidize the latex color and stain it unless it is black latex
  • Other colored latex may bleed on lighter colored latex also colored PVC may bleed on the latex and stain it so try to separate the colors either with tissue or baking paper when storing
  • Do not use oil based lubricants, creams and lotions on the skin or on the latex when wearing it as it will damage the latex
  • Use: for gloss use a latex wash aid and a latex shine aid on the outside shell
